A Very Sad Day

Not even two weeks ago our Care Ministries Pastor was diagnosed with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. This morning she went to receive her eternal reward. Words sound so hollow, activity seems so routine. I find great comfort in these words however:

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable  inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 1 Cor. 15:50-54 (Emphasis mine)

    Hi Pastor Jon,

Please know that the Hegyi family shares in your deep feelings of loss at the passing of our dear sister and great servant of Christ, Pastor Chris. Please let Pastor Dan know that we are praying for him and his family. Pastors Dan and Chris have loved on so many of us as we all worshiped and worked for the Kingdom of God during our times of service at CLC. May God be with you all at CLC as you all deal with this giant loss. Peace and love to everyone at CLC.

Your brother and former bassist at CLC,

    Jack Hegyi
